Basic Gameplay
In a ‘Salary Cap’ league format, managers build their fantasy teams to fit under a maximum limit. Player salaries are generated on a per league basis, based upon performance projections that are influenced by league specific scoring settings. The default maximum salary for a player is $30. Salaries do not fluctuate from week to week unless you have 'Require Managers to Select New Team Each Round' set to Yes, then it will update the salaries each round.
Player Selection
Prior to league activation (most salary cap leagues have Off-line drafts):
- To add a player, select Players | Create My Team | Select Add next to the desired player | Select Add to confirm the add.
Note: Attempts to add a player that put a team over the salary limit will result in an error – an alternative player must be chosen.
- To drop a player, select Players | Create My Team | Select Drop next to the desired player | Select Drop to confirm the drop.
Post league activation:
- To add a player in leagues that allow free agency, select Players | Add/Drop Players | Select Add next to the desired player | Select Add to confirm the add.
Note: Attempts to add a player that put a team over the salary limit will result in an error – an alternative player must be chosen.
- Salary cap leagues contain a shadow interface where players can be added and dropped without impacting moves.
As changes are made, a running total of 'Pending Moves' (player adds) is shown, along with a warning that pending changes must be saved.
Once player changes are made that fit under the salary cap and contain your desired players, select the 'Save' button - only then will new player additions count against your total number of moves.
If you wish to cancel all player changes, select the 'Discard' button (no moves will be counted).
Note: This option is only available for salary cap leagues that limit the number of free agent moves and allow unlimited player selection.
- To drop a player, select Players | Add/Drop Players | Select Drop next to the desired player | Select Drop to confirm the drop.
- Managers can find themselves with illegal rosters due to exceeding the salary cap and can have players on hold (those players cannot be started or benched).
Players can be released from hold by conforming to the league cap either via free agency or trades.
Fantasy Scoring & Winning
Scoring is determined by your league's settings. The fantasy team with the most points or best record across the entire postseason is the league winner.
Commissioner Options
The following options are available to commissioners:
- A salary cap value can be set between $50 and $500.
Lower salary caps require more strategic selections as a maximum of premium players will be able to fit under the cap.
Note: The cap is a rolling cap meaning only those players currently on a manager’s roster count against the cap.
- To modify player salaries, go to your league home page, select Admin Tools | Modify Salaries | Adjust the salaries by player as desired | Select ‘Update Salaries’.
Note: To update salaries for players on rosters, the check box must be selected prior to selecting ‘Update Salaries’.
